Hi Everyone,

Despite this only being a short news week, we still had some very good results from Enduranceteam athletes over the weekend right across the country.

The big performance news of the week was probably Kurt McDonalds silver medal at the Australian Schools Triathlon Championships held in Bendigo, Victoria.  Much has been made of Kurt’s outstanding debut season and this race just capped off a great year.  More on his race below.

Our End of Season Party was a hugely successful day with over 70athletes attending and we just had a great and night for those that kicked on.  Thanks to everyone who made the effort to get there and also to Chloe and Ross for organizing the evening.  Only 363 days until the next one J. Hi Everyone,

The Victorian domestic season has finally come to an end over the weekend and we finished off with some great results.  All are listed below in the coaching reports.  As many of you know triathlon is not just a seasonal sport anymore and we still have Ironman athletes in training for Port Maq, Cairns and we also have our professional athletes still aiming for races on an international scale as there main season differs slightly from the Victorian domestic stuff.  Triathlon is a year round sport now. Gatorade triathlon Series Finishes With a Bang

by Jarrod Evans on April 1, 2014

End of Season Party
Hi Everyone,

Another great weekend of training and racing done and dusted and well done to all athletes and coaches involved in the results achieved.

A couple of special mentions right off the bat this week for performances over the weekend.

Belinda Hadden – It was great to see her back racing at XTerra after a long lay and she managed to have a great result and get her spot at the 2014 XTerra World Champs in Maui.

Shari Livingston – What an upcomer this girl is becoming and getting ever closer to the top of the podium.  Next season will be a great season if she sticks at it.

Kurt McDonald – What can you say!  At 15years old and racing his first elite event and getting 9th overall and winning ITU Junior, are we seeing the birth of something special here?

Linda Solly – Almost in a class of her own in this age group.  Great work Linda and it is testament to your consistent hard work. Read Full Article

Hi Everyone,

It just doesn’t get any bigger than that!  Ironman Melbourne comes to town all week things have been at fever pitch here at Team HQ and what a day it delivered for our team.  Winners, podiums, PB’s and first timers and we just had an amazing day out.

If you’ve never been to an Ironman, the are truly one of the great spectacles for the normal everyday person to accomplish great athletic events.

We can waffle on all day about the winners etc etc, but its what happens after dark that is truly what Ironman is all about.  Just a great day all around and you can read about it all below. Read Full Article

Sam Boag Wins Victor Harbour Triathlon

Hi Everyone,

Not much to report over the last week with largely a break in racing, although there were some superstar performances from a few athletes and we have listed them below.

This coming week we have a massive crew racing around the country.

Kurt McDonald races his first championship event as an athlete with the Australian Youth Championships being held at Twin Waters on Thursday.  With 175 of the best Under 15 year olds, Kurt will have his work cut out, but he is in Top 3 shape and now it all comes down to execution on the day.  Best of luck mate.

James Chronis lines up in his first World Cup in Mooloolaba for season 2014 and despite a world class standard field we are looking to put on a better show than last year where we had a dnf due to a few skill errors.  In this quality of field a Top 30 position is what we are aiming for.  Chloe Butt and Nick McGuire both race their first ITU Mooloolaba Continental Cups which will also be Nick’s first debut at the distance and his first ever elite race.  Nick has unfortunately been unwell for the best part of 3weeks missing the last 2 ITU junior events, so this will be a big first up test for him but what a great experience. Stephane Van Der Bruggen Grabs 4th Australian Title

by Jarrod Evans on March 5, 2014

Stephane VDB 4th win
Hi Everyone,

Massive week of training and then weekend of racing just gone with events in Devonport, Queensland, Warnambool and New Zealand.  Enduranceteam increasingly on each weekend often has athletes racing in all corners of our great country and even the world, which is great to see.

We had some outstanding race results over the weekend with a few standouts and great titles won.  Chloe Lane winning her age group at Ironman New Zealand, performing exceptionally well under Coach, Ross Young.  Coach Stephane Van Der Bruggen continues a ‘major’ event domination with a win and his 5th Australian Age Group Title at Devonport in the 35-39 Males.  Lev Maxwell had a great race at the Southwest Sufferfest to grab 2nd in the Elite Male and show this is Ironman Melbourne preparations are well and truly on track here. ET Geelong triathlete
Hi Everyone,

Great weekend of training and racing in some better weather than past weeks and weekends.  The temps are certainly cooler in the morning’s as we near the end of the domestic season.

This week we crowned another 2 Victorian Age Group Champions in Coach Stephane Van Der Bruggen and Kate Bramley who continues to nail some great performances this season.  Not withstanding some of the other very good performances on the day by our placegetters and even some first timers.

Accompanying this race on the day was the ITU Australian Junior Sprint Distance Championships in which were meant to feature both Nick and Michael McGuire, but both boys have had severe bouts of the flu and have been on, and still are on antibiotics.  It was very disappointing for both boys, but in these circumstances, smarter heads must prevail and we need to look forwards to other events. Kate Bramley Our Latest Australian Age Group Champ

by Jarrod Evans on February 18, 2014

Kate Bramley
Hi Everyone,

Normally, Victorian weather is the scourge of winter, but this summer season we have had more crap days that I can remember for racing and Sunday Elwood was no exception. It was putrid. Unfortunately it just had to be the same day we did not have our tent as it was being repaired, so many 100’s of people just got completely drenched as well. With a bit of luck, next weekend will be better.

Out of the race, we welcome our newest Australian Age Group Champion, Kate Bramley. Kate becomes our 32nd Age Group Champion. This is not only a great result for Kate, but a great result for her coach, Stephane Van Der Bruggen. Enduranceteam prides itself on being a market leader in performance and our results at this championship event again showed this. Read Full Article

Levi Maxwell Takes Geelong 5150 Line Honours

by Jarrod Evans on February 13, 2014

Levi Maxwell at Geelong
Hi Everyone,

Well the days in Geelong don’t get more disgusting than what was dished up for the Geelong Multisport Festival across the weekend.  It was truly some of the worst conditions we have ever seen and one could not be forgiven for throwing the alarm clock across the room and taking the day off racing.  It was truly disgusting.

Our team tent took an absolute beating and we will be up for a $300 repairs after being bent backwards with the wind gusts.  Our tent was lucky comparable to a few there.

We had many many outstanding performances for the day, but Levi Maxwell’s probably stood out as the one that garnered the individual awards for the day.  After a brutal week of training, with no taper Levi showed his Ironman Melbourne prep is well and truly on track and the strength and speed gained over our build is now coming to the fore.

Enduranceteam truly has a remarkable group of athletes from 21-26 in the current HP and Elite Group and all of which are aiming to climb the mountain of success.  What an exciting time the next 3-5years will be. Read Full Article
